Former Reading FC goalkeeper Luke Southwood has joined Bolton Wanderers on a free transfer.
The 26-year-old keeper came through the Royals academy before making a total of 30 first-team appearances for the Royals.
Following a loan spell at Cheltenham Town in the 2022/23 campaign, he then joined the Robins on a permanent deal after being released by the Royals last summer.
He played every single league match in both of his campaigns with Cheltenham, but wasn’t able to help them avoid relegation last season as they finished in 21st place on 44 points.
Despite being offered a new contract by Cheltenham, Southwood opted to decline the offer and has now joined Bolton.
The goalkeeper, who has one international cap with Northern Ireland, has signed a two-year contract with the Trotters.
Bolton narrowly missed out on promotion to the Championship last season.
They finished the season in third position on 87 points and then lost out in the play-off final to Oxford United.
