Sheffield Wednesday are looking at bringing Premier League loanees into the squad.
Danny Rohl has made it clear that his side needs more signings ahead of the 2024/25 Championship campaign, despite the nine arrivals at Hillsborough already this season.
The Owls still appear to be slightly light in attack, as well as midfield, which as a result could see players targeted in these positions.
Sheffield Wednesday are currently looking at bolstering their striker options with Ike Ugbo the priority to bring to Hillsborough, although Sory Kaba remains a solid second-choice for Rohl.
Rohl has already added Svante Ingelsson and Nathaniel Chalobah to his side in order to improve his options in the centre-of-the-park, however more signings could still be made in this area.
The Sheffield Wednesday boss has made it clear that the Owls may dip into the loan market this summer, with ‘players in mind from Premier League clubs’.
With these recent comments, here is who Rohl could be tempted in bringing to S6 this summer
Tom Cannon
Leicester City striker Tom Cannon would be a brilliant acquisition with his goal scoring ability at Championship level.
He was given very little chance to make a significant impact for Leicester City last season, getting handed just three league starts, however he still managed to provide a goal contribution every 141 minutes.
If Cannon is trusted to lead the line, he can provide a guarantee of goals, as he was during his loan spell at Preston North End where he bagged eight goals in 20 matches, leading to Ex-West Ham striker Dean Ashton labelling the 21-year-old as ‘incredible’, per Lancs Live.
Ben Doak
Sheffield Wednesday may target a move for Liverpool winger Ben Doak.
Although he has been given a taste of first-team football in Merseyside, notably getting six appearances combined in the Premier League and Europa League, it is likely that Liverpool will want to loan out the hot-prospect.
Although he is yet to get a goal in senior football, he has shown his abilities on the right-wing to change a game at youth level, notably getting eight goal contributions in as many games in the Uefa Youth League.
Cesare Casadei
Like Cannon, Italian midfielder Cesare Casadei also spent time at Leicester City during their 2023/24 Championship winning campaign.
The 21-year-old was unable to tie down a starting spot for the Foxes, however still did appear on 22 occasions before he was recalled to parent club Chelsea.
Casadei could provide extra defensive assurance in Sheffield Wednesday’s midfield, with him potentially able to alternate and fight for a place with new signing Chalobah.
The youngster has also been given a taste of Premier League football with Chelsea, with 11 substitute appearances that saw him utilised across the pitch, from slotting in at midfield, to getting tasked with playing on the wing.
