King’s Lynn Town manager Adam Lakeland says his side are ready for the new National League North season – and feels his team will only get stronger as the campaign plays out.
The Linnets host Warrington Town at The Walks with a new wave of optimism sweeping through the club.
Lakeland said: “It’s a long season and I think what we will do is keep on getting better as the season goes along.
The new management team didn’t come into the building until October, but Lynn can ill-afford a start like last term where they picked up just one win in their opening nine league outings.
“If you have a bad start, you’re back in a scrap behind you – so it’s up to us, just like every other team will be saying that they want to get off to a decent start,” Lakeland said.
“Games at our level are tough and every single one is going to be difficult. I think we’ve got a decent side together now that will compete in every game. We’ve got goals in us which gives us a chance of getting points in a lot of games and we’re as fit as we can be.
“The confidence and the togetherness in the group is as strong as I believe it can be at this moment in time, and the only way that that can be enhanced is through winning games of football.”
