After a stunning 3-1 victory against Olympique de Marseille at the Vélodrome, AJ Auxerre approaches the remainder of the season with confidence. However, Christophe Pélissier is not carried away by this euphoria.
In a press conference, the coach urged his players to remain vigilant against an Angers team that is in search of a win following their defeat (2-4) to PSG.
“Against Angers, it’s not a trap match; it’s a very difficult game. Away from home, they have only lost their opening match,” the French tactician of the Auxerre club revealed.
He continued by emphasizing the strategy necessary to outmaneuver the Angers side: “At home, we need to be a team that is hard to handle. With the quality of our players, we should be capable of making a difference. We need to be good and patient with the ball, but I know we can be. We know how to do it.”
Gaëtan Perrin, who was also present at the press conference alongside Christophe Pélissier, echoed a similar sentiment. The 28-year-old right winger highlighted the importance of teamwork: “We feel good, always focused on the collective project. We have worked hard and are eager to resume the league. The collective shines through the individual talents. It needs to continue because football is about consistency. That’s what makes the difference. We might have a little more of the ball, and we need to use it well. We are ready,” he stated.
