Morecambe’s new boss Derek Adams held talks with Swindon Town, according to reporter Alan Nixon on Patreon.
Morecambe have brought back the Scotsman for a third spell. The Shrimps are preparing for another year in League Two after finishing 15th in the past season on 58 points.

Adams, 48, has decided to move back to the North West outfit. He has had other ‘possibilities’ over recent times and journalist Nixon has reported on Patreon that he had some discussions with Swindon Town regarding their managerial vacancy.
He has now gone back to the Mazuma Stadium and has told the club website: “I’m looking forward to it! Morecambe FC is a club I know well from my previous two spells at the football club, and I am looking forward to getting started.
“There is a lot of work to be done over the transfer window to get ready for the start of the new season, and I know the Board of Directors were looking for a manager who knows the football club and how it works.”
Morecambe boss had Swindon Town talks
Swindon Town have named Mark Kennedy as their new manager after their extensive search for Michael Flynn’s successor. Gavin Gunning ended last term in interim charge.
As for Morecambe, they have been considering their options as seeing Ged Brannan leave them to become the assistant at fellow fourth tier outfit Accrington Stanley.

Adams first joined them back in 2019 and guided them to promotion to League One against the odds.
He spent his playing days as a midfielder for the likes of Aberdeen, Burnley and Motherwell and played over 300 games before hanging up his boots in 2009.
The Glasgow-born man started his managerial career at Ross County and Plymouth Argyle before joining the Shrimps.
Adams cut ties with the Lancashire club in 2021 when Bradford City came calling but returned for a second spell shortly after he was sacked by the Bantams.
Ross County tempted him back up to Scotland late last year but he was dismissed by the Staggies in February.
What next for Morecambe and Swindon Town?
Morecambe decision to lure Adams back could turn out to be a good one as he knows the club inside out and is experienced in the Football League.
They will be aiming to finish higher up the division next season and have a lot of work to do on the transfer front.
The same applies to Swindon Town, who will be hoping former Lincoln City man Kennedy can lead them to success.
