Another day brings another transfer for the Kansas State football team.
The Wildcats added their fifth commitment of the week from the transfer portal on Thursday when Caleb Medford announced he would join coach Chris Klieman’s program.
Medford, a 6-foot-1, 198-pound wide receiver, began his college career at TCU but made a bigger impact at New Mexico. Over the past two seasons with the Lobos, he recorded 48 catches for 887 yards and five touchdowns.
He entered the transfer portal after showcasing his skills with several standout performances, including a 91-yard game against New Mexico State. He also scored touchdowns against Arizona, Auburn, and Washington State.
A native of Henderson, Texas, Medford played his first two years at TCU, appearing in five games without recording a catch. Nevertheless, he brings valuable Big 12 experience.
Kansas State will expect Medford to compete for immediate playing time as the Wildcats look to replace the losses of Keagan Johnson, Tre Spivey, Dante Cephas, and Ty Bowman at receiver.
With Medford’s addition, the Wildcats have now secured 12 incoming transfers for this recruiting cycle. He joins Jerand Bradley (Boston College), Gabe Ervin (Nebraska), Amarion Fortenberry (South Alabama), Gunner Maldonado (Arizona), Mar’Quavious Moss (West Georgia), Gabe Powers (Ohio State), Jayshawn Ross (Alabama), Jayden Rowe (Oklahoma), Brandon Sneh (Wagner), Amos Talalele (USC), and Jaron Tibbs (Purdue).
