Penn State is finally officially welcome new player

After days, weeks, months or years, Penn State is finally officially welcoming its class of 2025 recruits to Happy Valley.

Penn State on Wednesday signed all 26 of the players it had committed heading into the day. That group ranks 18th in the country, according to the 247Sports Composite.

But that’s bound to be volatile, as the Nittany Lions just added their 26th commit on Tuesday in the form of three-star tight end Brian Kortovich. There could be more moving forward, too, with the national letter of intent no longer binding prospects to their schools. Prospects are also able to wait a bit longer to make decisions.

James Franklin has stepped away from preparing for Oregon in the Big Ten Championship in order to help lead Penn State’s signing day efforts Wednesday, checking in with early morning signees as they come through. 11:40 a.m. | DB Daryus Dixson, Mater Dei (California)

Penn State had to wait a few extra minutes for an in-school ceremony, but Daryus Dixson’s paperwork has officially been submitted, and he rounds out the early signing group for Penn State. A four-star, the No. 9 player in California, the No. 15 cornerback and the No. 116 player in the country, Dixson is Penn State’s highest-rated recruit in the 2025 class. Fittingly, the Nittany Lions wrapped up today’s signings with an introduction from 2016 hero and former NFL defensive back Grant Haley, as Penn State turns its attention to the Big Ten Championship. Dixson committed to Penn State on June 10 after an official visit, which sparked this class moving forward. The Lions went out of their typical recruiting footprint to get a huge win from a national powerhouse high school. The 6-foot, 185-pounder will early enroll in January.
