Bolton Wanderers winger Carlos Mendes Gomes played an hour for the B team on Tuesday, as per their official club website.
Bolton Wanderers handed the attacker some valuable minutes along with defender Chris Forino against Salford City. BWFC ended up losing 2-1 to the Ammies in the Central League.
Mendes Gomes, 26, has been sidelined since January. He has struggled for fitness this season and has played only five appearances.
Speaking after their defeat to Salford City, the Trotters’ reserve team coach Andy Taylor told their website: “We didn’t deserve to lose it, but in terms of performance, which is obviously our main thing, it was a million miles away from where we need to be and where, in fairness to them, they have been getting to over the last few weeks.
“It was disappointing after what I felt we’ve been building to, so it’s a lesson in terms of that you’ve got to be on it every single day. You’ve got to push yourself every single day and every single game. It just felt like a step back, but we re-group and we’ve got a decent run of fixtures now.”
Bolton Wanderers injury latest regarding Carlos Mendes Gomes
Mendes Gomes is somewhat of a forgotten man at Bolton Wanderers.
He will be hoping for a fresh start under Steven Schumacher and he will give his new boss another option to pick from going forward when he is available again.

The Senegal-born man joined the Trotters back in 2023 from Luton Town.
Mendes Gomes caught the eye at Morecambe after they snapped him up from West Didsbury & Chorlton and he scored 18 goals in 91 games for the Shrimps to land a switch to Luton Town.
He went on to play 15 games for the Hatters during his time at Kenilworth Road and they were promoted to the Premier League whilst he was there.
What now for Bolton Wanderers?
Bolton Wanderers turned to Schumacher this winter following their decision to sack Ian Evatt. He has managed Plymouth Argyle and Stoke City in the past.
The Trotters are sat in 8th place in the table and have their sights set on promotion to the Championship.
They are outside the play-offs on goal difference after their win against Leyton Orient last time out.
Next up for Schumacher’s side is a tricky away trip to Wales this weekend to face 3rd position Wrexham.
