Clemson football added its first quarterback in the 2025 class with the commitment of three-star recruit Chris Denson on Tuesday.
The 6-foot-1, 175-pounder from Coastal Carolina is rated as the No. 50 quarterback nationally by the 247Sports Composite. He decommitted from Coastal Carolina and announced his commitment to the Tigers on X.
According to MaxPreps, Denson has 2,334 yards passing for 28 touchdowns and three interceptions through 12 games in his senior season. Denson has also rushed 1,159 yards on 113 carries for 12 touchdowns.
Denson’s commitment comes after four-star quarterback Blake Hebert decommitted in October, leaving the Tigers without a quarterback recruit. Clemson has had six players decommit this cycle, including four-star safety Tae Harris, three-star offensive lineman Jaylan Beckley, four-star cornerback Graceson Littleton, four-star defensive lineman Isaiah Campbell and four-star edge rusher Bryce Davis.
Denson is the ninth offensive player to commit to the Tigers. He is the 14th player to commit to coach Dabo Swinney’s 2025 class, which ranks No. 26 nationally. The Tigers’ 2025 class has seven four-star recruits and seven three-stars.
