Penn State running backs Nick Singleton and Kaytron Allen have both decided to forgo the 2025 NFL Draft and return for their final seasons with the Nittany Lions. Both are considered top NFL prospects, but their decision to stay boosts Penn State’s running back depth, giving them one of the strongest duos in college football. Singleton, a five-star recruit from the Class of 2022, has accumulated over 2,900 rushing yards and 40 total touchdowns in his career. He shared his excitement about achieving his goal of graduating from Penn State while pursuing team success in his final season. Allen, a four-star recruit from IMG Academy, emerged as a key player, surpassing 1,000 rushing yards in his junior season and finishing strong with 410 yards in his final four games.
With the return of both backs, as well as quarterback Drew Allar, Penn State is set to retain most of its offensive production from a national semifinalist team. Only tight end Tyler Warren, who won the John Mackey Award, will depart due to graduation.
Defensively, Penn State also got a boost with the return of standout defensive end Dani Dennis-Sutton. The junior, a former five-star recruit, led the team with career highs in tackles, tackles for loss, and sacks. Dennis-Sutton expressed his desire to finish what the team started, emphasizing that they have more to accomplish. Additionally, defensive tackle Zane Durant will return for his senior season after a career-best year with 42 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, and 3 sacks.
