A full-length trailer for the upcoming Led Zeppelin documentary, Becoming Led Zeppelin, has been unveiled.
Sony Pictures Classics will release the first official docu-concert movie about the rock band on February 14, 2025.
A week before, IMAX is holding an exclusive one-night-only early access screenings in 18 cities on February 7.
The film traces the journeys of the four members of the “Stairway To Heaven” rockers through the music scene of the 1960s and their meeting in the summer of 1968, culminating in 1970.
The story is told exclusively by interviews with the band members Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, and John Paul. The late John Bonham is represented by previously unheard audio interviews. The film features full performances, never-before-seen footage of the band’s early U.S. and British concerts and unseen material from the band’s personal archives.
Becoming Led Zeppelin was directed, researched and written by Bernard MacMahon with the support of screenwriter and producer Allison McGourty.
“We spent five years flying back and forth across the Atlantic scouring attics and basements in pursuit of rare and unseen film footage, photographs and music recordings,” said McGourty. “Then we transferred each piece of media with custom techniques, so that in IMAX, these 55-year-old clips and music would look and sound like they came out of the lab yesterday.”
