Bolton Wanderers are not interested in defender Taylor Moore this summer, despite contrasting reports, as per The Bolton News.
Bolton Wanderers are gearing up for another season in League One after failing to get promoted last time around.
Ian Evatt’s side came close reaching the play-off final but it wasn’t their day and Oxford United instead ran out winners.
Wanderers are now once again preparing to fight for a Championship return this coming season and they are already making moves in the summer transfer window.
One man previously linked with Bolton Wanderers was Moore. The 27-year-old free agent spent last season in Ligue 2 in France.
Before that he played for Shrewsbury Town and was a regular in League One and it seems a move back to England is on the cards for Moore this summer.
Bolton Wanderers and Barnsley were linked with Moore, but reports claim he has agreed a deal to join Bristol Rovers instead.
The latest update suggests Bolton Wanderers were never interested in Moore, but they are targeting defensive reinforcements this summer.
Making the right moves
The same update claims Bolton Wanderers are already well underway in the early stages of summer recruitment. It is said that Evatt and his team had identified a list of targets before the play-off final and for the time being a lot of their work is being done under the radar.
It remains to be seen whether that initial list may need some revision after they suffered defeat at Wembley as tempting some higher calibre players may be more difficult being in League One as opposed to the Championship.
But, it seems as if fans can expect to see the side’s defence strengthened over the summer it just won’t be with Moore.
A tough division
League One is a ruthless league. Bolton Wanderers have been competing at the right end of it for a few years now, but they did have to drop into League Two at one point to get back on the right track.
Birmingham City and Rotherham United are two newly-relegated sides who look to be taking no prisoners in the third tier as they recruit with the intention of achieving immediate promotion back to the Championship.
Those two clubs in particular will be tough to beat it seems this year, but there is no reason why Bolton Wanderers once again can’t be in the mix when it comes to the top two race.
