Bon Jovi Lands A Brand New Top 40 Hit–With One Of Their Classics

Bon Jovi spent 2024 hyping the world for their album Forever, which arrived in June. The band delivered two singles from the project ahead of its street date, and both of them became minor chart wins in a few places around the world.

Interest in new music from the New Jersey rockers isn’t as intense as it once was, but a quick look at the musical rankings in the United Kingdom suggests that there is still real love for the tunes that made the group famous for so long.

Bon Jovi Lands A Brand New Top 40 Hit–With One Of Their Classics

One of Bon Jovi’s biggest hits returns to the charts in the U.K. this week, spurred back to prominence by a recent usage by another musician. “It’s My Life” finds its way to two tallies in the country, and on one of them, it finally debuts, years after it first became a smash.

“It’s My Life” opens at No. 33 on the Official Singles Sales chart, the list of the top-selling tunes in the nation, without regard to style or how fans are purchasing the songs. Bon Jovi collects yet another top 40 win with one of their classics, which is finally a bestseller in one of the largest music markets in the world.

Bon Jovi has now scored three new top 40 bestsellers in the U.K. in 2024 alone. Earlier this year, when they were eagerly promoting Forever, the first two singles from the project both climbed into the competitive region on the Official Singles Sales chart. “Legendary” climbed to No. 7, and not long after that win, “Living Proof” lifted to No. 34, just one rung below where they sit at the moment.

Bon Jovi's New Album Helps One Of Their Classics Surge

“It’s My Life” is surging in popularity thanks to rapper and pop musician Pitbull. He recently released a single titled “(It’s) Now or Never,” which borrows heavily from the Bon Jovi song, lifting the familiar chorus in a common practice these days in the music industry. The rock band is officially credited on the cut—in almost all places.

Oddly, Bon Jovi isn’t named alongside Pitbull on the U.K. charts. “(It’s) Now or Never” starts on at least one ranking this week, but Bon Jovi is nowhere to be seen, which is in contrast to other lists, like the Billboard tallies. While they may not join in on that fun, the group is still enjoying the spoils of that new tune, as it’s caused a buying frenzy around the original.

Bon Jovi released “It’s My Life” in 2000 as the lead single from their album Crush. The tune was a huge global success, just as the arena rockers had become used to. In the U.K., it soared to No. 3 on the main songs tally and remains one of their most famous releases in the nation.
