Bottesford Town are delighted to announce the appointment of Matt Evans as 1st team coach for the 2024/25 season.
Having worked at Lincoln United last year as their first team coach Matt had a successful season, finishing 2nd in the United Counties League and reaching the Semi Finals of the VA Vase beaten by eventual winners Romford the season was very fruitful.
Mike Thompson was over the moon to get his man.
“After a week or so of conversations and a long meeting this week, I am over the moon to get Matt into the building. I admired what he did last season at Lincoln United and when their management team resigned earlier in the month I was straight on the phone. Matt has a brilliant amount of experience he is highly qualified and also works as a UEFA B coach mentor with the FA so he brings a lot to the dressing room. The big sell for me, like it always is with players was the dynamic. Having the face to face with Matt this week it was obvious that Matt Leigh and I would all work well together. Im really looking forward to working with Matt his season”
Here is What Matt had to say
“I’m delighted to be given the opportunity to join this football club, especially in this celebratory 50th year. When Mike reached out, I instantly liked his style and the things he said about how we will operate. His appetite for success and development is similar to mine. When I met Leigh, I felt excited about the player pathway and the vision there is for the club as a whole. I can’t wait to get in to training and begin working with the lads. It’s an exciting place to be!”
