The Carolina Panthers believe they have a good thing going in their quarterback room.
President of football operations and general manager Dan Morgan was available to the media at the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine on Tuesday. He was asked about the importance of bringing back veteran passer Andy Dalton, who the team re-signed to a two-year, $8 million deal last week.
“His résumé and what he’s done in this league, to have a quarterback in a backup role that’s won as many games, he’s been in playoff games. He brings that experience. So, first and foremost, having him back for that reason,” Morgan replied.
“And then also, him and Bryce [Young] have such a good relationship. The chemistry’s great in the quarterback room. So that’s not something that we really wanted to mess and we’re just excited to get him back.”
Dalton first joined the Panthers on a two-year, $10 million pact in 2023.
He’s gone on to start in six of his nine outings for Carolina, five of which came this past season. Those nods came after the three-time Pro Bowler took over for Young in Week 3.
Young later regained the starting duties in Week 8 when Dalton sustained a right thumb injury in a car accident.
The 37-year-old Dalton will be entering his 15th NFL season in 2025.
