“It was an opportunity that presented itself and I think it was a good opportunity for me and my family,” said Davis. “I love LSU, but this opportunity presented itself and it wasn’t far from there, so I took it.”
Davis was also asked about LSU’s new Defensive Line Coach, Kyle Williams. The former Tiger DT played 13 years in the NFL before coaching at the high school level prior to joining the Tigers staff. Davis actually coached Williams while he was a player at LSU as well.
“I think they’re getting a good person and a good coach,” said Davis. “I think it’s going to be tremendous for him. The wealth of knowledge he brings from the game to those young men, I think it’s going to be unbelievable.”
Here’s the full clip from WAFB’s Jacques Doucet:
Davis is considered one of the best defensive line coaches in the business. The Tigers paid a premium for him (1.2 million dollars per year to be exact), and now the Saints get themselves someone who can help fix some of their defensive line issues.
