Noni Madueke has joined the long list of Chelsea players who are currently nursing injuries. The 22-year-old winger appeared to suffer a hamstring problem during the Blues’ defeat to Brighton at the Amex Stadium on Friday night.
Halfway into the first half, Madueke tumbled to the ground before he was helped to his feet by club medical staff. While the England international managed to walk off the pitch without much assistance – albeit pretty gingerly – the nature of his injury will worry Enzo Maresca.
Fortunately for the West Londoners, they’re not in action again until next weekend when they lock horns with Aston Villa. So, with that being said, football.london has rounded up all the latest Chelsea injury news.
Noni Madueke
Madueke appeared to suffer a hamstring injury during Chelsea’s defeat to Brighton in the Premier League on Friday night. Until further tests and scans are conducted, the severity of the winger’s injury remains unknown.
What Maresca has said:Â “Noni, unfortunately is a hamstring problem so he will be out for a while.”
Potential return date:Â Unknown.
Nicolas Jackson
Jackson suffered a hamstring injury during Chelsea’s win over West Ham earlier this month. The striker has been greatly missed since, with Maresca reshuffling the pack to accommodate his absence.
What Maresca has said:Â “Nico will be out until the international break; probably available after the international break. We knew it was a muscular problem but we didn’t know how important it was. His reaction was quite good so we all thought that was not a big injury but unfortunately he had the scan a few days ago and it was important one. He will be around six or eight weeks.”
Potential return date:Â April 2025.
Marc Guiu
Guiu sparked concern when he went down holding his knee during Chelsea’s win over West Ham earlier this month. The striker appeared to overextend when attempting to latch onto a pass.
What Maresca has said: “Marc Guiu, unfortunately, it’s a bad injury. Could be [long-term], yeah. We are still waiting but it doesn’t look a short injury. It’s a long injury. Probably weeks or months.”
Potential return date:Â Unknown.
Romeo Lavia
Lavia suffered a muscle injury during Chelsea’s draw with Bournemouth last month. The midfielder has not featured since.
What Maresca has said:Â “Romeo Lavia is in the process to be back with us. Could be again – more or less like Nico – after the international break. Romeo, in terms of numbers, he has improved compared to last season with games played. Hopefully he can finish well the last part of the season and be more fit next season.”
Potential return date:Â Unknown.
Benoit Badiashile
Badiashile has not played since December due to a thigh injury.
What Maresca has said:Â “Romeo Lavia is in the process to be back with us. Benoit Badiashile exactly the same.”
Potential return date:Â February to March 2025.
Wesley Fofana
Fofana suffered a hamstring injury during Chelsea’s win over Aston Villa in December. The defender has been out of action since.
What Maresca has said:Â “He started with us a few days ago. It doesn’t mean he will be with us very soon – he still needs two or three weeks. The thing we can see him with the squad, it is already a good feeling.”
Potential return date:Â March to April 2025.
