Take a look at this awesome paint scheme Kyle Busch intended to run at Phoenix Raceway; It wasn’t approved by NASCAR
Kyle Busch is the driver of the No. 8 car in the NASCAR Cup Series for Richard Childress Racing. And he has one of the more unique primary sponsors in the sport.
3CHI sells award-winning cannabis products. Those products include gummies, vapes, flower, edibles, drinks, tinctures, concentrates, terpenes.
They also have a popular line of merchandise. “Kyle Kush”, a cleverly named line of merchandise.
Before the sponsorship was approved by NASCAR back in 2022, they had to be checked.
Testing on their products was done through a NASCAR-approved lab to ensure compliance with the 2018 United States farm bill. The bill legalized products with low levels of THC.
They were obviously approved as a sponsor. And they’ve served as a primary sponsor in several races every season since.
Yet, NASCAR still doesn’t allow marijuana-related designs. For the 2024 finale at Phoenix Raceway, 3CHI submitted a special design seeking NASCAR’s approval.

The original design submitted featured marijuana leaves, everywhere. The driver’s suit and helmet featured a similar design.
It looks epic.
The design was rejected by NASCAR.
3CHI comments on the rejected paint scheme
“And now… the moment you’ve been waiting for,” 3CHI stated via X.
“Kyle Busch’s Phoenix race car design is here! While it didn’t hit the track, we’re proud to share what we created. Bold, fast, and ready to take on anything—this is what could’ve been. What do you think?”
The company added, “As for NASCAR, it’s all about their current policies—marijuana-related designs don’t fit their approval standards yet. But we’re here to keep pushing boundaries and change the game! Maybe one day you’ll see a design like this on the track!”
