Netflix is not producing a documentary on Led Zeppelin, but a long-awaited authorized film about the legendary band titled *Becoming Led Zeppelin* is set for release in 2025.
Directed by Bernard MacMahon, the documentary explores the band’s origins with exclusive interviews featuring surviving members Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, and John Paul Jones. It also includes rare footage, such as performances from 1969 and personal moments from John Bonham’s life.
The documentary premiered at the Venice Film Festival in 2021 and has undergone revisions to include even more archival material. Current indications suggest a release date of May 16, 2025, under Sony Pictures Classics for the U.S. distribution【9】【10】【11】.
This film is the first project fully sanctioned by Led Zeppelin and aims to provide a deep dive into the band’s unparalleled rise to fame.
