Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets are not having a good run in the 2024-25 NBA season.
The Nuggets are fresh off winning the 2023 NBA Championship. Theoretically, they should be among the top teams in the Western Conference this season.
Although they are still the fifth seed in the West, a single look at the team will tell fans the Nuggets are far from what they were a couple of seasons ago.
More importantly, it is seemingly taking a toll on their franchise star, Nikola Jokic.

Nikola Jokic is frustrated with the Nuggets
Following a 110-100 loss at the hands of the Phoenix Suns, the Nuggets have fallen to a 16-12 record this season. It was another dominant performance by the Joker, but he had little to no support from his teammates.
After the 10-point loss, NBA analyst Harrison Wind shared his take on Jokic and the Nuggets.
“I can’t remember Nikola Jokic being more visibly frustrated with his teammates than he’s been this season.
“He hasn’t hidden what he thinks of this team and where they’re at, both with his emotions on the floor and comments off it,” Wind wrote on X.

To put things into perspective, the 3x NBA MVP put up 25 points, 15 rebounds, and 2 assists in the loss. Apart from Jokic, only Michael Porter Jr. managed to cross the 20-point mark.

The Nuggets need to make moves
Jokic is an all-time great, there are no two ways to look at it. However, his supporting cast is simply unable to keep up with him this season.
Outside of Russell Westbrook, the likes of MPJ and Jamal Murray have hardly shown up on the court consistently.
Evidently, the rumor mill is full of potential trade moves for the Nuggets. Porter Jr. will be key for the franchise to make a move in hopes of bolstering their roster.
While he has been consistently included in trade talks, Porter Jr. is paying no attention to the rumors. Either way, the Nuggets’ 3-2 record in the last five games isn’t something to boast about at this point in the season.
