The Pittsburgh Steelers have not been shy about trying new things with fourth quarterback John Rhys Plumlee. Plumlee has played all over special teams, including kick returner and on coverage units. In the team’s first game against the Houston Texans, Plumlee even had a tackle.
But Sunday’s practice included a new wrinkle for Plumlee, playing at wide receiver. He had briefly played there in college before moving back to quarterback, and one of the essential reasons he signed with the Steelers was because they would give him a shot at quarterback. However, the Steelers are experimenting with what he could be.
