Following a week of drama between the Baltimore Ravens and wide receiver Diontae Johnson, it looks as though the soap opera has concluded.
The Ravens waived Johnson on Friday, as per Adam Schefter of ESPN. Other teams in the league will have until Monday to claim him.
“Diontae Johnson now will go on waivers and can be claimed Monday at 4 pm ET. There is, in the opinion of some, a reasonable chance that Johnson will be claimed Monday,” said Schefter on X.
Johnson was listed as inactive for personal reasons for the Ravens’ Week 16 matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
This came after he and the Ravens had “mutually agreed” to pardon him from team activities all week following a team suspension.
The Ravens suspended the receiver on Dec. 4 for “conduct detrimental to the team” due to refusing to play in the Week 13. The Ravens lost that game 24-19 to the Philadelphia Eagles.
