Middlewood Road is set to undergo more dramatic changes after recent ‘fantastic’ upgrades.
Sheffield Wednesday fans were left delighted when it was confirmed that Danny Rohl had signed a new contract in May.
The German led the Owls to safety, before putting pen to paper on a new long-term deal three weeks later.
Rohl had several demands before he extended his stay at Hillsborough, with the promise of signings clearly being met since the summer transfer window opened.
Wednesday have made six signings in recent weeks, with Dejphon Chansiri receiving plenty of praise for his action so far.
Rohl also requested improvements made at Middlewood Road, which are well underway since the season came to a close.
Fans were well aware that pitches at the training ground were being freshly renovated in the off-season, with players returning to pre-season this week.
However, there appears to be more upgrades in the works, with a new gym planned.
Sheffield Wednesday training ground has had a ‘refresh’
Writing on X, journalist Joe Crann said: “#SWFC are planning a new gym facility at their Middlewood Road training ground – Danny Röhl tells me that there has been a ‘refresh’ in S6, and that the pitches ‘look fantastic’.”

Speaking to The Star at the weekend, Rohl said: “We have refreshed all the facilities in the training ground.
“The dome is ready to go, we’re also planning a new gym – hopefully we can build that up as soon as possible. Sometimes it takes a bit of time for all the government stuff, but hopefully we get that support. These are small things we’re doing.
“The pitches look fantastic, I feel that in the morning when I see my players running on them. It’s good to be back, and – as I’ve said before – it’s not about doing everything in one summer, but I wanted to see a process. I think we started that process last season, now it’s about making the next steps.”
Dejphon Chansiri deserves praise for summer work
Rohl’s demands of Chansiri seemed a lot to ask earlier this year, given his unsuccessful record of backing managers in previous years.
However, the Wednesday owner clearly understands just how important Rohl is to the club and certainly isn’t stupid enough to let him slip from their grasp.
While fans previously wanted him out of Hillsborough, he has undeniably done a brilliant job in bringing in the 35-year-old in and managing to keep him around.
Rohl’s presence has brought so much positivity to Yorkshire and Chansiri deserves plenty of praise for what he has been doing to keep him there.
