It was a classic offense versus defense matchup when the Baltimore Ravens hosted the Philadelphia Eagles at M&T Bank Stadium on Sunday.
When the smoke cleared, defense ruled the gridiron, as the Eagles escaped with a 24-19 victory to extend their winning streak to eight games. They improved to 10-2.
The Ravens, on the other hand, fell to 8-5, with quarterback Lamar Jackson being hounded by the scrambling defenders of Philadelphia. He threw for 237 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran for 79 yards.
While his rushing yards against the Eagles were his third-highest this season, Jackson’s mother, Felicia Jones, wasn’t too impressed.
“My momma just told me that,” said the reigning MVP in a video shared by ESPN’s Jamison Hensley on X. “She just cussed me out, so I’m mad. She said there were lanes I should’ve took and ran.”
Like a doting son, the 27-year-old dual threat agreed with his mother’s analysis. After all, as they say, mom knows best.
“I was just trying to let guys develop routes and I was just trying to go through my progressions,” said the Ravens star. “But yeah, she’s right.”
He upped his rushing yards this season to 678 after their loss to the Eagles.

The Ravens started strong with a 9-0 lead after Jackson’s 14-yard pass to tight end Mark Andrews. They, however, couldn’t sustain their form and got outscored in the second period, 14-3.
Baltimore will have a bye week before returning to action on Dec. 15 against the New York Giants.
