Blackburn Rovers and West Brom are both interested in Kilmarnock striker Bobby Wales, according to Football Insider.
Blackburn Rovers and West Brom are both looking to maintain their promotion hopes heading into the final eight games of the season.
Rovers have fallen away from the top six amid a winless start to Valerien Ismael’s tenure, but the Baggies sit 6th under the lead of former Ewood Park favourite Tony Mowbray.
Nonetheless, both clubs will have eyes on potential recruits for the summer. Identifying targets now means they can get to work quickly after the season’s end, regardless of what division they find themselves in.
Now, according to a report from Football Insider, Blackburn Rovers and West Brom could be set to go head-to-head for Kilmarnock striker Bobby Wales.
Both Rovers and the Baggies are keen on the 19-year-old, who sees his deal at Rugby Park expire at the end of the season. A number of other Championship sides are keen but the aforementioned duo are the only ones named at this stage.
Wales is seen as a promising player who could be brought in on a shrewd deal and developed into someone who could generate a welcome profit in the years to come.
Rumoured Blackburn Rovers and West Brom target Wales has been with Kilmarnock since 2016, working his way through their academy and eventually into the first-team.
He made his breakthrough at a young age but a successful loan with Alloa Athletic in the 2023/24 campaign truly announced him on the senior stage, netting 12 goals and providing five assists in 27 games.
That form warranted a place in the Kilmarnock squad for this season and Wales has managed five goals and three assists in 27 outings.
Still only 19, a bright future lays ahead of the Scottish youth international but it remains to be seen just what comes of his contract fate.
