MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – No. 1 Wisconsin women’s hockey beat Clarkson 4-1 at LaBahn Ice Arena in the NCAA Regional Final on Saturday.
With the win, the Badgers are headed to a record-tying sixteenth Women’s Frozen Four. They are now tied with Minnesota for the most in NCAA Tournament history.
Clarkson scored their first goal,
The Badgers scored four unanswered, starting with Ava Murphy’s second period goal. Kelly Gobatenko scored the eventual game-winning goal later in the second. Laila Edwards scored in the third and Lacey Eden had a late empty net goal.
Fifth year forward Casey O’Brien notched her tallied her 85th point this year, two off from Meghan Duggan’s record from the 2010-2011 season.
Wisconsin will play Minnesota in the semifinals of the Women’s Frozen Four in Minneapolis on Friday.
