The Penrith Panthers have officially parted ways with head coach Ivan Cleary following a disappointing start to the 2025 NRL season. The decision comes after the team managed just one win in their first six games, sparking concern among fans and club officials.
Cleary, who led the Panthers to multiple premierships during his tenure, leaves behind a successful legacy but was unable to turn around the team’s recent poor form.
In response, the Panthers have appointed long-time assistant coach Cameron Ciraldo as interim head coach. Ciraldo, who has a strong history with the club and is well-respected by the playing group, will take over duties effective immediately.
Club management said the search for a permanent replacement is already underway, but Ciraldo will remain in charge for the foreseeable future as the team looks to regain momentum.
Fans and analysts alike will be watching closely to see how the Panthers respond under new leadership in the coming weeks.
