Evander Kane’s career has been longer than the majority of NHL players’. Over 10 years and 1,000 games have been played by Kane, who has also played for the San Jose Sharks, Vancouver Canucks, Edmonton Oilers, Winnipeg Jets, and Atlanta Thrashers.
Nonetheless, lately the Kane front has been quiet. This makes me wonder if his career in the NHL is over.

Evander Kane’s Most Recent Rumors
Although he didn’t have a deal, Kane was rumored to be associated with several NHL teams in early August.
Pro Hockey Rumors claims that Minnesota Wild, Vegas Golden Knights, and New York Rangers would be good fits for the experienced forward.
“Gabriel Foley stated that “the Minnesota Wild, Vegas Golden Knights, and New York Rangers are all in need of more scoring punch in their top-nine, while sitting just under the pay cap limit.” “At a low cost, Kane might provide that extra punch to playoff-bound—or playoff-hopeful—squads. He could also be a top candidate for a professional try-out contract if teams want to test him in their environment before committing to a full season.”
Foley also discussed Kane’s potential contributions to an NHL roster.
Foley stated, “Kane may offer power-play potential even in his age-36 season, more than simply giving a grinder presence up the lineup.” As one of just six Canucks forwards to play at least 100 minutes with the extra man, he scored six points on Vancouver’s second power-play unit last season. Kane also checked this box in his 2023–24 season with the Edmonton Oilers, where he scored seven power-play points.
KHL interest was rumored.
At least one KHL club was performing its due diligence with the 35-year-old power forward, according to the online publication Sport Express.
“Sport-Express has discovered that Canadian forward Evander Kane is a target for Ak Bars. Sport Express reported in early August that the Kazan club is intently looking at the 35-year-old forward, who had previously played in the KHL.”
Kane has played in the KHL previously. During the 2012–13 NHL lockout, the forward inked a contract with Dynamo Minsk. He played in twelve games for the Belarusian squad, scoring one goal and registering no assists. His efficiency score was minus eight.
Kane is taking his time in deciding his hockey future one way or another.
