Henrik Zetterberg’s first captain when he joined the Detroit Red Wings in 2002 was Steve Yzerman. For four seasons, Yzerman was his teammate. Zetterberg and Yzerman are best buddies above all.
Hank isn’t thrilled with the manner in which Stevie Y’s time as the team’s general manager ended.
Zetterberg informed the Swedish website Expressen, “I figured it was incorrect.”
Like Yzerman, Zetterberg was the Red Wings’ captain. Leading the Red Wings to their last Stanley Cup victory, he took home the Conn Smythe Trophy.
Zetterberg finds the present status of the one NHL club he spent his 15-season career playing for unappealing.
Zetterberg stated, “It has been brutal.” “Things always come and go, and it’s sad since there’s a distinction between what comes out and what doesn’t.
“It was difficult to see Steve quit.”
After seven seasons as the Red Wings’ GM, Yzerman was fired in mid-July, not long after Dylan Larkin, another ex-Red Wings captain, made a trade demand to the Red Wings.
